Bio:
Amy is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with over 20 years of experience serving Coloradoans with behavioral health needs. Her career path in human services started with counseling youths in the juvenile justice system and providing case management and counseling for women displaced by domestic violence. As a psychiatric nurse, she has delivered trauma-informed care in inpatient, community, and crisis stabilization settings to underserved populations with complex needs since 2007. She has continued serving in the community mental health setting since completing her PMHNP boards in 2022.
Amy’s care philosophy centers on the dedication to each client’s capacity for living their best through holistic, person-centered treatment strategies. She prioritizes the nurturance of hope and radical acceptance in the context of diverse client needs and circumstances that call for consideration of pharmacological interventions. She is active in national and local professional nursing organizations advocating for equitable, evidence-based standards of care. In her free time, Amy cherishes time with her son and her two feather-babies, and enjoys dancing, writing, and making music.
