Stephanie Bakosh is an Advanced Practice Nurse dually certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who recently relocated to southern Nevada from Chicago, Illinois. Born and raised in the Midwest, Stephanie attended the University of Iowa where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. After working in social services with individuals with developmental disabilities for several years in various capacities from direct care work, to case management to Program Management, Stephanie pursued her passion of becoming a nurse. She completed a bridge program at the University of Illinois- Chicago and obtained 2 nursing degrees. Stephanie has worked in various settings in the hospital from the ICU, to geriatric units, to inpatient psychiatric and detox units, in long term care facilities, and even in a maximum security prison and therefore brings a unique perspective to outpatient mental health services. She was recruited by Elmhurst University (yes, Brett Eldredge the country singer went there!) and was an Associate Professor for over 2 years due to her diverse skill set (no, he was not in the nursing program). She also has experience in working with the Deaf community and can communicate using ASL and Signed English. Stephanie’s philosophy is to treat the whole patient; body, mind and spirit and utilizes a combination of holistic and conventional strategies to achieve this goal.
Since moving to Nevada, Stephanie enjoys spending as much time outside as possible. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, swimming and exploring the beautiful desert landscape with her family and fur babies. Music is important to Stephanie and she can’t wait to attend live concerts again, especially Jimmy Buffett. If you are looking for Stephanie, you might find her at Sushi Twister (the best sushi place in Vegas) at Boulder Beach at Lake Mead or on a pickle ball court!
