Marissa

Hi! I am Marissa. I am a new-to-Colorado resident, but I am originally from Ohio. Since I was a young girl, mental health has always been my passion, so as I progressed through my adult life and found myself in nursing school, I knew mental health would play a huge role in the direction I took. I was formerly an ER nurse, but knew that my empathy and compassion were best aligned with a specialty in mental health, and that led me to Mile High Psychiatry!

I primarily find myself specializing in anxiety, depression, OCD, and bipolar disorders, but have found so much knowledge and joy from learning and treating those with a variety of mental health disorders. I love working with children when the opportunity presents itself, too. I firmly believe that mental health care is a human right, and I pride myself on being open-minded, LGBTQIA+ friendly, and I am always striving to bring kindness to every person I interact with.

On a personal level, I have a wide range of hobbies that I enjoy in my free time. I love spending time with family, friends, and my partner. On days off of work, you can most likely find me rock climbing, hiking, camping, or traveling. I have never met a dog I didn’t immediately fall in love with, and if you ever see me walking on the street, I will always say “Hi!” to your doggo. I love being outdoors, sharing smiles, reading a good book, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
